Krafting the Krispee
With a beautiful golden color, puffed corn typically has a sweeter taste than its rice-based counterpart. A bit like popcorn really, which isn’t that weird once you realize that puffed and “popped” corn are essentially the same thing. Perfect for lightweight snacks, like Krispees.
To enhance their flavor and texture, chia seeds have been added. Originally from the Americas, these tiny seeds are tasty as well as nutritious, and can be used for numerous other foods, both sweet and savory. They make for a wonderful, mildly nutty addition that doesn’t cut down on that typical Krispee crunch.
