Time for a crunchy,
Trouble in snacking paradise?
Anyone who has ever tried a calorie-restricted diet knows that the major problem with such a dietary regimen is not necessarily the discipline one must have during regular meals. It’s the self-control one must keep during the rest of the day.
For many, snacking between meals is a real problem. Simple and seemingly innocuous little treats, like a candy bar or a bag of chips, may add 200 to over 600 calories to your diet in one go, completely shattering your goals in terms of calorie intake and weight management.
In addition, most of these snacks are full of preservatives, processed ingredients, trans fats and other potentially harmful additives. So it’s obvious those snacks are pretty much devoid of nutrition.
Be mindful about your choices
If you're serious about eating clean and reaping the benefits of a healthy diet, but would still like to keep something tasty in your desk drawer to munch on when your stomach rumbles, Prozis brings you a crunchy vegan snack: Roasted Soybeans.

The wonders of soybeans
Part of Asian cuisine for a very long time, soybeans are a species of legume that has become one of the world's most widely ingested foods.
Nutritionally, their macronutrient profile stands out: they're a great plant-based source of protein and fiber. In fact, soy is one of the few plant sources of complete protein, meaning it contains all the essential amino acids.
Furthermore, soybeans are a source of calcium and high in zinc, iron, and magnesium, which are an essential part of your daily diet.
Ready to eat
Roasted and salted to perfection, you can enjoy these soybeans straight out of the bag, totally guilt-free! They also make a nutritious and delicious topping for your salads, pastas, and home-made Asian dishes.
- 400 g firm tofu
- 2-3 tbsps olive oil
- Salt to taste
- 1 large carrot, finely cut into thin matchsticks
- 4 onions, finely sliced
- 140 g cherry tomatoes
- Coriander, chopped
- Basil leaves, chopped if large
- 85 g baby herbs or lettuce leaves
- 1 sachet Prozis Roasted Soybeans
Unpack the tofu, wrap it with paper towels or a dish cloth, and set something heavy on top, like a plate. Leave it for about 15 to 30 minutes. Once pressed, slice the tofu into small cubes. Heat up about 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan on medium heat, and add the tofu. Fry for about 15 minutes, stirring every three minutes or so. Add salt to taste.
Mix the dressing ingredients in a bowl. Once the tofu is cooked, toss in the dressing along with the carrot, the onion, the tomatoes, the coriander, and the basil. Mix really well, pile it onto the salad leaves, and sprinkle with the roasted soybeans.
For the dressing
Juice of 1 small lime
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
Ready to go
Having these crunchy soybeans available in snack size means you can take them everywhere you go: to work or school, on a hike or bicycle ride, on the bus or airplane… anywhere, really!
