Lipoic acid (LA)

Lipoic acid (LA) is a fatty acid produced in relatively small amounts by the human body. It also occurs in certain foods such as red meat, liver, kidneys, spinach, broccoli and potatoes.
It has antioxidant properties, meaning that it is able to neutralize cell damage caused by the build-up of free radicals in the cells, and also enhances the effects of other antioxidants like vitamin C, vitamin E and glutathione.
