Chitosan

Chitosan

Chitosan is a polysaccharide derived from chitin, a substance found in crustacean exoskeletons. After a deacetylation process, the substance is equipped with a positive electrical charge, causing it to bind strongly to negatively charged lipids. As a result, these lipids cannot be absorbed during the digestive process. Taking this supplement before a meal contributes to a considerable reduction of fat absorption, thus promoting weight loss.
