Gerês Granfondo 2018 by Trek

The mix between traditional and modern is once again what distinguishes the Gerês Granfondo by Trek, with its tough and challenging course passing through surprising, extremely beautiful locations that teem with symbolism in local culture. One of these is the Misarela bridge, which was once the stage for a war between God and the devil. Like the Gerês Granfondo 2018 by Trek, which promises to be a challenge close to the gods, running away from the devil.

In the natural paradise of the Peneda Gerês national park, one of Portugal's seven natural wonders, we cross the parishes of Terras de Bouro, Amares, Vieira do Minho and Montalegre, and climb over the walls of Pincães, Ermida and the neighbouring Serra da Cabreira. New in the course are a never-before-seen passage over the dam of Caniçada and a climb to Santa Isabel do Monte, a pilgrim site for professional cyclists preparing for the Volta a Portugal.

The most mythic of all Portuguese Granfondos is up for its 6th edition, and will once again have three courses to choose from: the 144km long Granfondo, the 112km long Mediofondo, and the 77km long Minifondo. And again, it will be that place where you'll love to come back to as it makes us feel at home.
