Corrida da Defesa Nacional

The Grupo Recreativo, Desportivo e Cultural do Ministério da Defesa Nacional (GRDC-MDN) promotes, for the first time, the Corrida da Defesa Nacional and the Caminhada do Combatente on April 29th, 2018. The solidary events aim to create closer ties between the Defesa Nacional and society.

The 1st Corrida da Defesa Nacional and Caminhada do Combatente are open to all citizens and have the institutional support of the Ministério da Defesa Nacional (Ministry of Defence), the Estado-Maior-General das Forças Armadas (General Staff of the Armed Forces), the Marinha (Navy), the Exército (Army) and the Força Aérea (Air Force), and can also count on the high patronage of the National Olympic Committee and the Câmara Municipal de Lisboa.

This never-before-seen event in Portugal, part of the centenary celebrations of the First World War, will end at the Forte do Bom Sucesso, near the Jardim da Torre de Belém, with Armed Forces' demonstrations and exhibits related to the Portuguese participation in the War.

Two world renowned athletes will be the patrons of the events.

One more reason for you to come run or hike with us.

Aside from the registration fee, participants can also make an additional donation which will go to the Liga dos Combatentes and the ADFA.
