It is very difficult to get enough fibre in a diet when you eliminate the carbohydrates in cereals, whole grains and fruits from your diet. To help you overcome this obstacle, Psyllium provides all the fibre needed to keep in good shape, and maintain a body that functions normally.
Psyllium is the common word for fibres taken from the plant known as Plantago ovata (Plantago psyllium is used synonymously, and is where the fibre name comes from); the fibre is characterised by being water-soluble (hydrophilic) and gel-forming, while possessing low fermentability.
