What you eat may not always meet all the nutritional needs of your body. The stress of modern-day life, combined with ready-to-eat and fast-food meals, can lead to imbalances in your daily diet, which contribute to health issues and physical problems. This is common knowledge for all of us, but especially for sportspeople. In the case of athletes, the intake of some nutrients is even more important! The tougher the physical challenges, the more care is needed to provide all the essential nutrients for a healthy life!
No age in cartilage
Collagen is a protein that is part of multiple fibrous structures in the body, such as bone, cartilage, ligaments and tendons. It is made up of several amino acids, and one of its main functions is the strengthening of structures that support and promote cell and tissue cohesion. It is a multi-purpose protein, a great ally to all tissues! What more could you ask for?
Hyaluronic Acid maintains collagen synthesis. It is a naturally occurring substance produced by the body and found mainly in joint, eye and cartilage fluids. This substance may be extracted from animals (e.g. chicken), or produced artificially in laboratories by manipulating bacteria.
MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is an active substance that provides an organic form of sulfur. Although naturally occurring in foods such as fruit, vegetables, meat and seafood, MSM is easily destroyed during industrial food processing. Adding it to dietary food supplements may therefore prove to be a useful strategy.
