Build the pillars
Why is Omega-3 important for athletes?
In the past few years, scientific research in the area of nutrition has recognized the importance of the anti-inflammatory properties of Omega-3 fatty acids. In the body, the most important Omega-3 types, known as EPA and DHA, are converted into various anti-inflammatory compounds such as prostaglandins.
All people who exercise on a regular basis, and especially those who practice high-intensity interval training, are prone to inflammatory processes. Inflammation is a natural defensive response of the organism to the intensity of the training. When the inflammation has disappeared and the muscle fiber has been restored, the body has become stronger and more resistant to future, possibly even more intense exertion.
More concentration and more energy
During high-intensity trainings, fats are used by the body as a source of energy. Additionally, fats are essential for the absorption of liposoluble vitamins that contribute to the body's energy production process.
Beside providing vitalizing effects, Omega-3 also helps keep the arteries clear from harmful LDL particles and is essential for tissue and organ repair.
Omega 3 Ultra Concentrate, the perfect dose of EPA and DHA
After analyzing the current market for Omega 3 products, Crossgen researchers concluded that 98% of the Omega-3-based products in the current market do not contain a dose strong enough to bring out all of the benefits associated with EPA and DHA.
A recently realized scientific study indicated that Omega-3 stimulates protein synthesis, the process that causes muscles to become stronger and more resistant. However, this benefit can only be taken advantage of if the daily dose of EPA and DHA altogether amounts to at least 2 grams*.
The Crossgen researchers were amazed to discover that today's market includes products with a dose not even amounting to 500 mg. How in the world can one expect results with such ineffective quantities? Because of this, each dose of Omega 3 Ultra Concentrate contains more than 2 grams of EPA and DHA, a quantity that really makes a difference for the body.
At Crossgen it is believed that true quality originates in nature, and not in captivity. This explains why Omega 3 Ultra Concentrate is extracted exclusively from wild fish. Scientific studies have taught us that animals brought up in the wild provide higher quality nutrition. Omega 3 Ultra Concentrate therefore comes in a more nutritionally concentrated form compared to similar products in the market.
Furthermore, a molecular destillation process makes sure that any possible toxins, such as mercury and dioxins, are removed. Omega 3 Ultra Concentrate respects all the guidelines established by the International Fish Oil Standards Program.
