Carbohydrates are found in various foods and, along with protein and fat, are the main calories suppliers in food. Dietary supplements may contain mixtures of complex carbohydrates and simple sugars, which is the case of dextrose or maltodextrine. They are ideally used before or after training, as they provide energy, replenish glucose levels, stimulate insulin release and contribute to an increase in muscle mass.
