Creatine

Creatine

Creatine is a type of nitrogenous organic acid produced by the body from 3 amino acids (arginine, glycine and methionine), but which can also be obtained from foods such as meat or fish. This compound is predominantly synthesized in the liver, the pancreas and the kidneys, from where it is distributed to the rest of the body cells. Creatine plays an important part in the energy production process, keeping the body from resorting to its muscle glycogen reserves. The compound also supports muscle recovery, maintenance and growth.
