Carnitine

Carnitine

Carnitine is an amino acid that is produced inside the human body itself from the other amino acids, specifically lysine and methionine. The substance can also be obtained from foods such as meat and dairy products. Approximately 98% of the carnitine deposits in the body is found in muscle tissue, which is also where this amino acid plays an important part in the processes of energy production and fat metabolism.
